Our client is looking for a Term Time only Education Sales Consultant to join their expanding team. They are a global leader in Education services and this is an exciting time to join their expanding team. The role is home based with travel to Secondary schools within SE London, Kent and East Sussex.

The role:

You will be engaging with key decision makers including Headteachers, Teachers Subject leaders/co-ordinators at Secondary schools. This will involve talking to them to understand their challenges and articulating how the companys products and services can support them in raising children’s attainment. Products and services include print, books, digital learning content, digital services connecting parents, pupils and teachers, coursework material and exams. The company are well established within the Education sector and schools will already be aware of their name.

This is not a hard sales role and would involve a consultative sales approach. Exploring the needs, problems or challenges faced and then linking them to relevant products and services that can help the school to improve the learning services available to their students, teachers and parents.

A passion for connecting with people, influencing others and motivation to help schools achieve the best for their pupils is essential.

You will be able to work from home so good organisational skills and self-motivation is essential. You will have access to a database of contacts at Secondary schools in your geographical area. You will then speak to them on the phone and face to face to discuss the features and benefits of the products and services offered and how they can support them in raising children’s attainment.

A day in the life of a Sales Consultant:

Planning your strategy for targeting schools - working with data provided and CRM to identify opportunities
Building your diary - booking your own and working with an Appointment Setter to secure meetings ensuring that your diary is geographically managed
Meeting with key decision makers, insight conversations and presenting proposals
Proactively identifying opportunities whilst out in territory
Smart working - delivering remote meetings where necessary using desktop sharing technology
Attending and presenting at events and cluster meetings
Continually updating your knowledge of curriculum and our products and services to ensure you present the best proposition for the customer

Experience:

Any experience of selling services to schools or local authorities would be beneficial although not essential as personality is key to the success of this role. You don’t need to have any prior experience in the Education sector, although the company do like to hire people who have a genuine interest in this sector.

Full product training is provided. They also provide a layered approach to training with the opportunity to shadow experienced colleagues in order to gain knowledge.

Consultative sales experience and business to business sales experience would give you the transferable skills needed for this role. Alternatively if you have been a teacher and are looking for a change in role then your knowledge can also be applied.

Commission is paid annually and is based on a blend of hitting individual targets and team targets.

Salary: £21,000 - £26,000 per annum + bonus of up to 20% of salary paid annually + Company car + Laptop, mobile and tablet
