NVQ Assessor / Verifier
Our client is looking for an NVQ Assessor / Internal Verifier to join their team in London.
Candidates must hold an A1 / D32 / D33 Assessing qualification. A V1 / D34 qualification would be advantageous although if you do not possess a verification qualification then our client is willing to provide the necessary training in order to gain it.
Candidates must have experience of delivering NVQ’s / Apprenticeships in Business Administration, Customer Service, Team Leading and Management at level 3.
A PTLLS Qualification would be desirable but training will be provided by the company in order to achieve this.
Duties
You will be responsible for the training, assessment and support of a caseload of learners enrolled on apprenticeship, commercial or other work-based training programmes. Caseloads are normally 28 - 32 learners.
The role involves travel to a range of employer premises to coach and assess learners and to conduct formal progress reviews. Training Co-ordinators also have responsibility for delivering training to groups at the main centre and at employer sites or other local training venues.
Performance will measured against a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) covering learner recruitment, retention, progress, unit achievement, timely reviews and framework completions. Quality is monitored and measured through the organisation’s comprehensive quality assurance and improvement arrangements.
The post holder will be required to achieve good levels of repeat business by delivering a high quality, responsive service to learners and employers. You will be required to promote progression opportunities to existing learners and follow up leavers to promote opportunities for re-engagement.
Key responsibilities will include…
- Provide Information, Advice and Guidance to learners and employers.
- Complete initial assessment activities and agree Individual Learning Plans with learners and their workplace supervisors.
- Provide induction to learners.
- Co-ordinate plans to deliver on and off-the-job training and ensure that all learning objectives in the learner’s Individual Learning Plan are achieved.
- Deliver off-the-job training to learners in group and 1-1 sessions.
- Visit learners in the workplace at least once a month to complete coaching, assessment and review activities.
- Plan and carry out assessment activities for the competence and knowledge-based elements of the learner’s Apprenticeship programme and provide support and assessment for the key skills.
- Submit portfolios for internal verification in accordance with the IV Sampling Plan.
- Arrange for learners to sit external tests.
- Manage learner programmes effectively to ensure timely achievement of individual units and the Apprenticeship framework.
- Provide appropriate pastoral support to learners to enable them to complete their programme.
- Work effectively with employers to ensure that they are involved in each stage of the learner journey.
- Maintain a caseload of learners that meets the target agreed with the Work Based Learning Manager.
- Complete all relevant learner and company records in accordance with company procedures.
Key Skill qualifications would also be an advantage although once again the successful applicant must be prepared to achieve these within an initial probation period.
The applicant will be required to work across London and will be based from the West London office from where they will be required to work at least 1 day per week or as dictated by their workload.
